Customer Review :
So far the best 4G phone on Verizon (including Rezound) : Motorola DROID RAZR 4G Android Phone (Verizon Wireless)
Here's what's distinct than the original Motorola Droid:
- Super fast and zippy - no getting stuck. (The only icy up so far is after playing Angry Birds for a while it sometimes gets stuck for a few seconds periodically in middle of the game. Don't know why...). Otherwise, tasks that I would try to do with my Droid1 took forever to do (to the point I would just give up tryin) takes seconds with Razr.
- Data works during calls!
- Gps is greatly improved. I can catch Gps signal just by standing close to a window, where on the Droid 1 I had to de facto be outside. I live in Nyc where there's lots of signal interference, and I can still get a signal indoors with windows shut as long as I'm close adequate to the window.
- Non-removable battery. Although this may seem like a huge downer, I don't think it necessarily is. I had my Droid 1 for two years and the original battery didn't die. Iphone users seem to survive with non-removable battery (I guess it will just cost more to replace). The real concern habitancy seem to have is that they want to have a backup battery to carry around and swap out. But here's the truth: I did have a spare battery with the Droid 1, but I never got in the habit of using it because it's inconvenient to keep swapping them out and recharging. So much so, that I wasn't using the spare battery at all. Finally, I began using NewTrent external battery charger. It has 5500mAh of power and is about the size of a BlackBerry Curve. It is way more convenient than a 2nd battery and I this is the explication I de facto use.
- The camera on the Razr does a much good job in lower light situations than the Droid 1.
- The found is very very thin and very light. At first it felt like it was going to fall out of my hands. It was impressive how fast and grand it is yet so featherweight. It made tasks that my Droid 1 would labor hard to do seem easy. The screen is large which can be an issue reaching parts of the screen if you have short fingers. It would be good if the found was more rounded at the edges, but it seems Motorola has not moved beyond the era of walkie talkies and beepers when it comes to ergonomic design.
- Battery life seems to run out as quickly as the Droid one, but bear in mind that I'm using it a lot more than the Droid 1. Compared to the D1, it takes much longer to get a full fee when plugged into a Usb port. Plugging into the wall will take a little over an hour to get a full charge. To give an example of battery life, I drained the phone from 100% to 5% with about 2:15 hours of watching a movie (.avi format with RockPlayer, using headphones), googled a little and watched two YouTube videos, with about an hour or so break of standby time.
- Razr has a sim card, hdmi port, but no camera button, and no bodily keyboard.
I'm not a fan of the Motorola layout, but I'm hoping to root and put in Cm7 once they have a release for the Razr.
